Hooked on Phonics

My 5 year old is learning to read and spell. His teacher has instructed the class to sound out the words and use their best guess. My two favorite spellings so far are: "cunchre" and "jroling".
Ex: This is a crayon & pencil "jroling" of my favorite "cunchre": the United States of America.
I love that kid!

Bike To Work Day

Tomorrow is Bike to Work Day here in Denver. Unless I get hit by a bus on the way to or from, I'll log about 25 mile tomorrow. My route:

I Saw a Homeless Guy Pushing a Giant Shiny Wheel

I wonder if the designers of this have ever met a homeless person. How much does one of these cost? I noticed on their site the apparent option to use the wheelLy as advertising space. What companies are interested in an advertising association with homelessness?
Still it's a noble gesture, I just can't see it working here in the US. Do we really want "a connected nomadic community" of WheelLys in front of the museum.
